Sponsor Spotlight: Ledcor

Friday, Jun 21, 2024

We're running a series to highlight and learn more about our CREW Vancouver Sponsors. We asked them a few questions so we can get to know them better.

We'd like to thank one of our Platinum Sponsors, Ledcor.

CREW Vancouver SS ledcor LT 1

What core values does your company prioritize, and how do these values align with the mission and goals of our women's network?

As one of North America’s largest and most diverse construction companies, Ledcor recognizes and celebrates the achievements of its female professionals. We know that a safe, collaborative, and inclusive environment is critical to our success, and supporting women at Ledcor makes our company even stronger.

We are actively involved with more than 20 organizations dedicated to empowering women as part of our commitment to I&D at Ledcor. And our Women’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) is an inclusive environment for women and allies that helps identify best practices, share knowledge, and raise awareness.

If there's one thing you'd like others to know about your company, what would it be?

We care for each other and the communities where we work and live. We look for ways to build upon our construction projects and the local jobs we create by engaging with local communities, forging lasting relationships and leaving legacies that will remain long after projects have wrapped up. Over the past 10 years, Ledcor and our employees have invested over $24 million to more than 200 charities across North America, as well as supporting communities through various professional development, sustainability, and research initiatives.

Can you highlight a recent project your company has been involved in that has had a significant impact on the local community or economy?

Ledcor is currently constructing an affordable housing project in Vancouver for Soroptimist International that will provide 135 long-term homes for senior women, women in the workforce, and single mothers and their children. The project was developed and designed by women, and women form the majority of our construction team.

This innovative project focuses on sustainability by using high-quality, locally-sourced materials and implementing energy efficient systems and water-saving technologies. The design also provides accessibility for a diverse range of abilities and is adaptable to meet future needs.
