Speakers:

Moderator and CREW Vancouver President - Lauren MacKinnon, COO Glotman Simpson Consulting Engineers

Lauren MacKinnon is the Chief Operating Officer at Glotman Simpson Consulting Engineers, a 55+ year leading structural engineering firm in North America. Her current role encompasses leadership in strategy, operations, human resources, marketing, communications, and business development. Wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced environment, Lauren focuses effectively on numerous avenues of the business simultaneously with compassion and integrity. Her people-first approach has propelled the deployment of many strategic solutions and operational efficiencies in alignment with the firm’s vision and objectives.

Prior to Glotman Simpson, Lauren worked for an international environmental engineering firm for 10 years where she quickly realized her passion for people and leadership. Working as part of an HR team, she learned her skillset reached beyond the HR specialty, which led her to start her own consultancy business, LVS Consulting Inc., where she advised small-medium sized companies in a variety of industries in developing their HR foundation from the ground up. Glotman Simpson was one of her clients, and after falling in love with the team’s culture, she joined the firm full-time in 2015.

Through her many activities, Lauren pursues every opportunity to make positive impacts within the industry and community at large. She has made it her mission to help break barriers for others and is dedicated to giving back in a meaningful way to influence change for future generations.
