Lisa, thank you so much for being our Member Spotlight!

You are an active member with CREW Vancouver, can you share why you decided to join this network and which events you tend to sign up for first?

CREW was recommended to me back in 2016 when I had first joined DIRTT. I attended a few events and loved what this group is about. Women empowering women. I knew immediately this was an organization I wanted to be part of.

Building relationships leads to conversations and opportunities that one wouldn’t otherwise know existed. Meeting so many women who have forged successful paths in this industry is so inspiring. CREW allows us to make these connections and hear these motivational stories while still building business opportunities.

As for the events, it’s hard to pick just one, they have all been engaging and fun. I’m always looking forward to the next one. Early standouts for me were the panel lunches and the golf tournament. We sponsored a hole at the golf tournament a few years ago and offered martini shots for anyone that stopped by. It was a blast!

Can you elaborate more on why you were compelled to join DIRTT and what you most enjoy about being a part of this company?

As an Interior Designer I love to design beautiful spaces with high quality and custom features. I had the opportunity tour Calgary’s DIRTT headquarters before I joined. I was truly captivated with their approach to customizable design and quality of finishes. How DIRTT brought technology into construction; they built faster, cleaner and more sustainably. I had never seen anything like it and I knew this is was something I wanted to be part of.

Have you noticed any big shifts in the design and/or construction industries since COVID-19 began and how has DIRTT adapted and stayed proactive with these changes?

When the pandemic hit it forced hospitals to adapt their spaces to accommodate the situation. DIRTT provided Constructed Clinical Enclosures to provide a safer, more efficient environment for testing. These stand-alone units could be deployed indoors or outdoors within weeks.

As we are now reassessing the post pandemic world, DIRTT has custom solutions to assist for workplace flexibility, less downtime in healthcare and adapting to the change of learning environments.

What are you most looking forward to, personally and professionally, in a post-pandemic world?

I’m excited to travel with my family and some trips on my own for personal development (with a book and a wood burning fire).

I am really looking forward to the reintegration into the workplace. I feel the post-pandemic world will see a paradigm shift in how we work in shared spaces. Industries will go through a phase of reinvention, adapting to the new realities of workspaces, commercial spaces and the way they utilize their environments. The need for versatility, adaptability and agility presents the perfect opportunity to utilize DIRTT’s cutting edge technology to address cutting-edge needs.
