Could you share with us a recent project or initiative your company is particularly proud of?
The Scotiabank Women Initiative® is an enterprise-wide program designed to increase economic and professional opportunities for our women clients, empowering them to succeed on their own terms. It provides equitable access to financial solutions, specialized education, and inclusive, women-centric advisory services and mentorship to help people who identify as women or non-binary to pursue their best professional and financial futures. What core values does your company prioritize, and how do these values align with the mission and goals of our women's network?
At Scotiabank, we have a passion for supporting women to help them pursue their best professional and financial futures, which is why we launched The Scotiabank Women Initiative in December of 2018. The Scotiabank Women Initiative is a signature program designed to increase economic opportunity for our clients who identify as women or non-binary to be successful, now and in the future. This globally expanding, unique offering helps thousands of women pursue their best professional and financial futures by providing unbiased access to capital, tailored solutions, bespoke specialized education, holistic advisory services, and mentorship. Part of the program is to support women who want to take their careers and businesses further, collaborating with inclusion-focused leaders and companies, providing women-owned and women-led businesses with equitable access to funding and helping women take charge of their finances. The Scotiabank Women Initiative breaks down barriers to empower women to succeed on their own terms.
Can you highlight a recent project your company has been involved in that has had a significant impact on the local community or economy?
Since its inception, The Scotiabank Women Initiative has achieved remarkable milestones. We have increased our commitment to deploying capital to women-owned and women-led businesses in Canada from our initial goal of $3 billion to $10 billion by 2025. By the end of 2023, The Scotiabank Women Initiative facilitated $8 billion in capital nearing our goal for 2025.
